2Wild Rozenvain
2Wild
Barak Rozenvain, born in 1991, and Miri Rozenvain, born in 1998, are the brother-sister artist duo known as 2Wild Rozenvain. They grew up in a home filled with art from their parents, Michael Rozenvain and Aleksandra Sevina. Growing up in Toronto, Canada, they shared a studio which helped each other grow as artists, and later both became successful, later deciding to join in one spectacular collaboration.
Inspired by the trips they took as a family through natural and cultural landscapes, they visited art shows, galleries, and museums, as well as national parks, uncharted beaches, and countless encounters with wildlife. The love for these trips inspired them and advanced their artistic development and desire to express their passion for nature and the outdoors through unique combinations of contemporary media.
As a viewer, we picture ourselves in these dreamlike moments, rendered through gestural contours, drips, and palette knife butterflies. Our innate connection with nature speaks through the art’s emotion and tales of wonder, all of which emulate nature’s adaptability and the mission to preserve its legacy and elevate the outdoor experience.
Like the naturalism which 2Wild emulates in their art, their process is ever evolving. Brush and palette knife work coupled with contemporary mediums such as shattered glass, resin, collage media, and clear plexiglass, which quickly became a staple in their art. Its transparency allows 2wild to paint on either side of the glass, achieving profound depth not found elsewhere.
