P. Colby Myer
Born in Sanford, Main, in 1979, Peter Colby Myer depicts bright, vibrant scenes of hummingbirds, skiers, and aspen trees. Each piece is coupled with a poem written on the back that elevates the meaning of the painting.
As the viewer observes Peter Colby Myer’s art, we see light in the gold and silver leaf backgrounds, freedom in the hummingbird’s flight, growth in the aspens, and adventure in the skiers. In each of his paintings, we see the beauty that life offers.
Peter Colby Myer received a bachelor’s in fine art at the University of Utah. After many years of teaching and traveling abroad, he went on to get his master’s degree at Laguna College of Art and Design in Laguna beach, California. He currently is the Upper School art teacher at the prestigious prep school, North Yarmouth Academy in Yarmouth, Maine and teaches workshops out of his art studio at Fort Andross in Brunswick, Maine.
When Peter Colby Myer is not hard at work in his studio, he enjoys plein air surfing, traveling, skiing in the back country, surfing, or paddleboarding with his family. Nature is his greatest inspiration.
