Hijack
Born in 1992 in Los Angeles, Jacques Guetta, AKA Hijack, is the son of renowned pop artist Mr Brainwash. Taking inspiration from his name, art, and growing up surrounded by street artists such as Banksy, Space Invader, and Shepard Fairey Hijack received art exposure unlike many others and has taken pop art to new levels.
With subjects that literally pop out of the frame, the viewer ingests Hijack’s work as something more than simple pop art. We appreciate the juxtaposition of original pieces, which allude to pop and street artists of the past and present, which, true to his name, Hijack incorporates into his own art. We visualize the relationship that Hijack has created with these artists both in reality and outside of it.
Though he comes from art through his familial connections, Hijack is a prodigy in his own right and came into his own style and aesthetic and is one of the most up-and-coming artists in today’s contemporary art scene. Each of his pieces are brilliantly constructed and designed to show that he literally thinks outside the box for each piece. His artwork is shown in galleries and as public sculptures and tags all over the world. There is even one of his stencil cats in one of the alleys right here on Main Street in Park City!
Hijack’s first solo exhibition in April 2013 was a huge success and was so highly anticipated that it sold out. Pieces such as Never Too Young to Dream Big and Perfection is False, became fast favorites of those in attendance. By June of that same year, his debut was featured in issues of that month’s Art of England, Huffington Post UK, The Art Newspaper, and The Telegraph. Later, in October, he was invited to the Dieresis Cultural Center in Guadalajara, Mexico to show an exhibit which was extended for months. Large crowds of collectors and audiences gathered to delight in his art.
In 2014, Hijack’s success continued as he continued to rise within the art scene. His solo shows, Life Through Street Art in Paris and in November for his Asian art show, were also met with great success, and he was featured in Vogue Japan. The following year only continued to bring great successes, in 2015 he collaborated with world-renowned Swiss watchmakers Hubolt and Fashion TV to have a show on the Swiss Alps in Gstaad at the famous Palace Hotel, where he received attention from art collectors across the globe.
Hijack also collaborates with renowned street artists, including New York’s Cope and Japan’s Dragon 76. In 2025, he collaborated with Messi on pieces with the soccer icon’s visage and signature. Hijack’s talent is showcased in many mediums, such as cement, glass, metal, wood, and canvas all of which bridges the gap between street and fine art. For Hijack, art is a lifestyle and passion as shown through his signature style which is steeped in positivity.
