Aleksandra Savina was born in Kiev, Ukraine where she obtained her fine art diploma from the Fine Art School and Teachers College. From there, she worked as a teacher and designer. After meeting her sweet husband and established artist, Michael Rozenvain, they immigrated to Toronto, Canada which they have called home since 2005. Their two children and greatest accomplishments, Miri and Barak, have become wonderful artists, and collaborate as the artist duo, 2Wild.
At first glance, the viewer may see Savina’s art as blurred shapes and faces. But the viewer takes a step back, we see her love for both city and landscapes. The vibrant colors she uses allows us to see the simple beauty of life. Aleksandra art recreates the magical experience of strolling through her favorite cities and landscapes around the world. Her iconic scenes of vibrantly dressed couples strolling together, holding hands, and sharing an umbrella on a rainy day. We view the contrast between the gloomy weather and the colorful, loving energy of the couples creates a romantic ambiance. In her landscapes, she captures the most powerful and intensely colored creations of nature. Her passion for the outdoors is channeled through the expressive colors in her paintings of reflective lakes, luminous skies, and endless mountain ranges.
She derives inspiration from the great masters in pointillism and impressionism. Building on and modernizing their movement in pointillism, Aleksandra uses varied geometric shapes to depict her scenes. Her colorful compositions are designed to bring love and life into people’s homes all over the world.
