Helene Caron
Hélène Caron was born in Laval, Quebec where she grew up with a love of animals and the visual arts. As a little girl, she would spend hours tirelessly drawing especially animals. Her ability to depict her detailed animals, while also incorporating abstract patterns in the background and in the animals’ visages allow us to experience realism with the understanding that life is about fun, as much as it is reality.
Hélène Caron’s art is known for its vibrant colors, technique, and subjects that leave each piece unique. The contemporary realism of her work provides immense detail with remarkable accuracy. The balance between the animal, the texture, and color palette of the work elicits excitement from viewers. Hélène's works always feeds curiosity, sensitivity and fun for those who interact with her animals as their profound glances speak to you, scrutinize you, question you.
Hélène Caron marries contemporary and abstract figurative art. Her animals are painted in different colors, and the bottom is usually left blank, leaving a space around the subject which gives harmony and a certain serenity to the work. Mostly made on wood, the artist uses acrylic with a multitude of tools including knives and spatulas, and different textured gels and pastes to add depth and relief to each painting.
Since 2010, Hélène Caron devoted herself entirely to her art. She has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions throughout Quebec and Ontario and has received several awards of distinction. She is represented for her horses by the art gallery of the fabulous Cavalia - Odysséo horse show, which has toured globally Her works are part of many private and corporate collections throughout the world. Hélène currently resides in Blainville, Quebec.
